Workshops / Coaching / Mentoring

Your need

Do you want to enable your staff to plan, to write, and to improve their own technical documentation, online help or software demos? Or do you need some specific training?

My service

I can impart the required know-how to you in form of an individual workshop. The workshop will particularly focus on your specific documentation needs and documents.

If you wish, I can continue my support also for some time after the workshop, providing tips on how to further optimize your work.

The primary focus of my assistance will usually not be on how to use a specific authoring tool. As technical writers you are certainly well able to read the documentation of such tools.

What is much more important is to provide answers which are not given in any manual or tool specific training, such as:

What makes the difference between poor, useless documentation and great, user-friendly documentation?
How should you structure your documents?
What is important when writing help texts?
How do you work efficiently?

Thanks to the focus on your individual problems and questions you will be able to get down to work immediately right after the workshop. As part of the workshop we will have already set up your specific project and we will have already overcome all major initial obstacles. So the time invested into the workshop will not be "lost" unproductive but fully benefits your project.

If you want to set up your own in-house documentation department I can assist you with all major tasks: staff selection, tool selection and setup, definition of corporate writing style guides and standards, as well as mentoring of new employees.
